Dear Juniors, guess this post came a little too late but even if your read this after your tournament, its still dedicated to all you girls! :)

Well, We know you have been training hard for this competition tmr,

The physical trgs, the runnings, and even the dirty boots you have to scrub for the night. All these just for your competition tmr.

For the hope of winning a medal, for the honour of the coaches, school and teachers.

So, even though your seniors will be busy studying for their coming prelims,

We'll be hoping to receive your good news excitedly.

Be it walking out of the field with pride and joy,

Or just missing your dream by a try,

We are still very proud of you girls and will always be rooting along!

As long as you give your all in the game, running as fast as possible and executing what you have learn, thats what matters most.

PS: the photos are in the previous post. There are actually some more bt its with nat! shall upload it whn nat send it to me thn! We played volleyball and of course a lil of beach touch.SUPER FUN!lols..was laughing at our actions. Step was very sweet..she made breakfast for us and of cus her speciality which is her cookies! It was damn nice and YUMMY! After tt, we proceed to vivo where we had our lunch. LOLS! not lunch exactly...gossip session to b more precise! we chit chat-ed for a very long time abt anything and everthing in sch..lols..was shocked by a few facts!we took tonnes of photos and off we went SHOPPING! from one shop to another...we tried on dresses...blah blah blah lols..like wat normal girls would usually do! That day was ultra super duper uper FUN! how shall i say, its nice havin each other around..talking, laughin where we know we will have each other no matter what! 19th July 2008: THE TESTIMONIAL!!! Thank you to the juniors for planning the testimonial match for us! The seniors had so much fun. We know it wasn't easy at all for you girls to plan the event in such short notice. So thank you so much girls! Next, we would like to thank our seniorss(j3s&j4s) and our coach matthew for taking time off their schedule to come down for the match. Thank you for being so enthusiastic and spontaneous you guys always brought laughter to us!

People were supposed to report at 8pm sharp, but some of them were late,including our coach. So to past time, the j2s took many many pictures!!!

I'd received the vedio today in a very prettaye disc. Would like to thank the J1s for putting in so much effort into making the short clip. I werent around during the camp and probably missed out aeroplane loads of fun and also probably miss out some torment. ( P.T etc HAHAHA. ) aiya, i dont know what to continue. LTC REFLECTIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LTC was on 4-7 july.

DAY1

we did kayaking 1 star. It was very fun and challenging cus the sea at changi was very choppy. My kayak capsized like a few times and the worst part was the water was so salty! I had an overdosed of salt after glupping down like few mouth full! At night, we went for amazing race in the forest.

DAY2

kayaking 1 star again for the whole morning and afternoon. It was like super scary cus mine bwas filled to the brim with water while i was carrying it onshore, have to emptied it at a super fast pace while being constantly thrown onshore by the huge waves! At night, we went for dancing lessons.

DAY3

high elements the whole day(challenging ropes, rock-climbing, single pole, flying fox..etc). through that we learnt bout team work as some activities can only be done if everyone cooperate.

At night we have campfire where i was involed in a skit. We did the dance we learnt the day before and some others.

DAY4

land expedition the whole morning.we went around finding clues with a backpack and went for some dragonboating too. In the afternoon was pack up and home sweet home.

During the whole camp, we had facilitation time after each activity, from there we learnt alot like our weakness and strength and ways to improve ourselves!

DAY 1!

for me, we had dragon boating first. it's was really fun!! we get to try to sit at the side of the boat. it was really scary at first. but we did it! and it was really really cool sitting there without falling into e sea. hee:D next we had land expetition. hmm..nt really dat fun we still enjoyed it. we get to play e "quiditch" (don noe how to spell-.-) cant really wat else did we do. haha!

DAY 2!

today we did rope courses. it was really a test of courage. and i manage to complete it! so proud of myself(: haha. there's absiling, high rope element, and the best thign was: the "boomstick"!! which really is jus flying fox. but e teachers were very creative to make it into a flying broomstick. hahaha! i love it. but e moment at e top was SUPER SCARY though. o ya. we gt one pic with kelly at e top waiting to slide down! haha.

DAY 3 AND DAY 4!

for this 2 days, i had kayaking lessons and exam for it. we all passed e 1 star kayaking course! yay. at first really afraid of the capsizing part lor. but after dat i realise it was nth(: haha. everyone shld give it a try.

as a whole, this camp was really tough and tiring. haha. but still, it's chance for all of us to learn. we get to reflect upon ourselves and know our strengths and weakness better. so i hope after this camp, we exco can serve e touch rug team better and lead touch rug to championship! hoho. a bit far fetch. wahahaha. sry for e short post! ltc was too far back. haha. nvm a pic speaks a thousand words(: enjoy!

YAY! i'm sooooooo happy that exam is finally over. and we have gotten back our results!! (Although the results were not so appealling ahahaha.) But nevertheless we have endured through!! CONGRATS everyone.

The long awaited training has finally resumed today! 10 july 2008. personally i have really really enjoyed today's training. And i think everyone felt the same as i do cos we were talking about it while we were bathing in the toilet after the training haha! Today's training was truly enjoyable as we didnt have much punishments and we were very entertained by coach haha. All thanks to his clap push up and also the diamond shaped push up. COACH, pls train harder to show us ur single hand push up haha. i promise we will cheer u on with all our hearts(:

Also, i think we haven't lose our touch after the long break from training. hope coach is not disappointed with our performance today. i think we did (pause for a moment) p-r-e-t-t-y well right? haha. At least we were able TRY a few times despite the few drop balls here and there(: Dont be too harsh on us!! we promise that we will work on that:D (the above does not represent the whole touch rug team) DO NOT USE IT AGAINST US! hee. lots of thanks to coach! hip hip hurray.

Training should resume coming this thursday. If nothing goes wrong, there will be a normal field training. Year 2s, as always are welcome to come as well. Dont think just because you have stepped down means you have no rights to come, you are more than welcome to. As for the year 1s, i hope you have been doing your own running or at least a jog or two during your exams!

Reminder- Sentosa next week sat. Please try and make it. Its a chance to let your hair loose. Its a bonding session away from school. Its a great oppotunity to have a break after the exams at the same time, with friends who enjoy that same sport that you do too!

For most of you, Exams are over, for some, today may be your last paper. On behalf of the NY Times, CONGRATULATIONS!!! You are all off the hook. Its time to put the books away and take out the boots! Shopping sales still going on, new movie releases, clubbing over the weekend(for those who are above 18). Say good bye to coffee and say hello to "im so free!".

Anyone miss touch? Dont know about you, but i already miss it to bits. Cant wait to play again! Once again, hope everyone has done their best in their exams. Dont worry too much about your marks. As long as you put your effort into it, you shouldnt need to worry much. Same goes with anything you do in life. Stay in the pink of health, look forward to trainings.

The J1s learnt new moves in their training which is good! And as for the J2s, we trained on eagles and it took longer than what any of us expected it to be. 2 hrs in the atrium and 2 hrs on the field? Oh well, at least we spent quality time together! ... ...

Camp update III.

Farewell
After a long day of games and trainings, it was finally time for another highlight of the camp - The Farewell! So the year 2s went to get changed and waited eagerly while our year ones got ready for our farewell party. They really put in lots of effort for this event and let's get into the fun now!

Well, What's a party w/o nice and delicious food?! The year 1s got really great food for the farewell that everyone cant wait to lay our hands on it. And from the moment when we started eating, we just couldn't stop munching cos the meal was sumptuous! (:

As you can see, there was really a lot of planning and hard work put in it. Not only did we have good food, there were nicely sculptured balloons, hand made name tags, music, chatting, fun and yada yada. We had games that got us entertained all night! From musical chair to charades and of cos, to our unforgettable forfeit and dance game.

The forfeit came about cos the coaches and co. kinda got squeezed out of the musical chair somehow. Haha. And the forfeit turn out to be a pleasant surprise that got us all laughing and cheering!

Just in case anyone missed this video in one of the previous post, here's it again!

For the prize presentation to be carried out that night, the year 2s moved down to the atrium while our year 1s helped to pack up the place first. Then we continued having our game which happened to be a dance game next. The dancers of the game were supposed to pass down the dance steps to the next person in the line. As you will see, the dance steps got quite messed up after that but i guess all the girls enjoyed themselves even just by watching them dance!

Anyway, just side tracking a little here:) Came to realize how we always include some dance elements to our event, be it for bonding session or during the farewell. Somehow, even though we cant dance as well, we just enjoy doing so. We have a para para queen in our midst (you know who you are! ;), a couple of girls who used to be from dance, some girls who signed up for the hip hop lessons organised by the school, and even some who secretly takes up dancing outside! Haha!

Okay, back to the party. Oh, and then it was prize presentation! The ceremony started with a video made by the juniors. Wanted to post the video up as well, but unfortunately, the file's too big. Anyway, the video really brought back memories for the year 2s. Looking at the pictures made us realize how we have grown, and how the team has changed till today, from the initial 30 over girls. So we all beamed widely as we look at our certificate of appreciation, knowing that each and everyone of us made up team NYJC 07/08. Our juniors were so sweet and what they have done for us touched us deeply! We know the planning, posing, editing and video-ing for the party and video didn't come easy, so a really BIG BIG BIG thank you from us to everyone involved! We've got our camp tee and pullover as well:)

To have a fun-filled successful camp, a lot of time, effort and planning needs to be there. There was certainly some significant figures we had to give thanks too because the camp wouldn't have been so enjoyable if not for them. From the bottom of our hearts sincerely, we would like to thank:

Firstly, thank you for giving us the green light to our camp! We wouldn't be able to have this camp at all if not for your permission to let us do so. We know it wasn't easy at all to oversee the whole camp with both the boys and girls rugby. So thank you so much Mr Singh! From helping us to edit our proposal to making sure we were all feeling well, we are truly very grateful! Thank you for the continuous support you gave us be it during the planning or during the camp. We hope you had fun in the camp just as much as we enjoyed ourselves. :)

We would like to thank the coaches for taking time off their schedule to be with us in the camp. Thank you for guiding us through our proposals and making the camp what it had been - fun, fruitful and memorable. Thank you for all the skills you all have taught us on the field and off the field. We really learn a lot from you guys be it about being a player or being a team. And thank you for being so enthusiastic and spontaneous in all our games that you guys always brought laughter to us! Thank you coaches.

And not forgetting the coaches' company! Thank you for joining us at our farewell party and leaving us with a great dance and jingle. haha. And thank you for all the help you guys gave in the camp from playing with us, training us and to refereeing us. We will always rmb the book dance ;) Thank you so much to all the coaches friends that came!

Last but not least, we all would like to thank the schools that came and had friendlies with us. The schools are National JC, Temasek JC, Millennia Institute and the coaches co. (rp). Thank you for willing to make the trip down to our school and thank you for the games we had. :)

So by popular demand. The NY Times will be doing a feature on the higly aclaimed Coach of yours, Matthew. Born on the 14th of Dec, 1988, which is exactly 2 weeks before coach bel's birthday, Matthew was already born a handsome child. To date, standing at 184cm, this player is one of the most handsome on the field. During a press conference with Daniel Carter, the New Zealand stand off, he mentioned that Matthew could be next to take over him. Sources tell us that he is now coaching along side with the well known player Annabel Woo. With 2 big name coaches, im sure the team is lucky to have them as a coach.

John Matthew Kai

Many people question his name. NY Times have found his name to be true, he didnt make it up. The explaination behind it is that he is indian. NY Times have traced his indian roots all the way to his Father's father. His father's mother is Chinese and so is his mom's parents. He was given a surname of John and for some reason, given a chinese name of Kai (open). This explains why he is a very open guy, fun loving and not forgetting, a funny guy.

Word has it that he is single. NY Times is gonna name him the Bachelor of the year (cause he is the only guy anyway). So ladies, take a queue number, cause as of now, the number is at 284. Reports have found him to be a keeper and a one of a kind person. Matt, up for grabs!

So after many stories about bel. Lets take a look to see her accomplishments...

Annabel Bernadette Woo Xue Ni

If you take a closer look at the shirt she is wearing, you might be able to see what logo that is. For those who already guessed, its the Singapore National Team logo. She just finished a season playing for season in 2 competitions recently. She played 7s in the Hong Kong 7's and then 15s in Kazakstan. If you are wondering what country that is, its the one which came out in the movie Borat. They won a few and lost a few matches, but it was from the way Bel played that scared people. She was a machine on the field not only assisting the tries but also playing a key role in the Singapore National Team. Because of this, many companies are signing deals with here over sponsership. As you can see in the photo, she was posing for a candy advertisement.

Tony and Guy also managed to sign a deal with the famous bel. They have been doing her hair ever since. Manager of Tony and Guy said in a statement the other day, "Bel is a figurehead and role model, by doing her hair, hopefully many aspiring young sportswoman would follow the way she looks too!" No one is yet to have seen her newly done hair. But Tony and Guy has released a photo of just her hair.

P.S. This is really her hair last time. This is not a fake image.

-Sentosa pushed back due to the exco having something on the 5th. So its now set on the 12th. Any Violent objections? everyone is to make it! It will be a special and fun experience

-Year 1s start training again on the 1st July. Try and listen to the Book is on the table that the coaches did and remember how it goes. Just a tip off for whats gonna happen on the first training.

BEWARE!!

Beach users were disturbed by sightings of a hippo last wed. After a nice tan and a dip in the sea, they were rudely interupted by a hippo. A picture has now been detained by the NY times to investigate the situation. Lifeguards have also been told to keep watch for this hippo on the loose.

The Hippo is known to be a big eater and sleeper, occasionally transforming into her second form (Whale) to have a swim. She is known to change back into her first form (Hippo) when she gets tired (and lazy). When her transformation takes place though, a great amount of water is repeled out of the pool, due to the change in density of her form, which causes something close to a tsumani.

After having many analysts go through this image of bel, they are still left puzzled to what she was trying to dress up as. As you can see, they knew once away that the lady on the left was tinkerbel from the movie and hit drama, Peter Pan. But after months of assessments and analysis, they can only come out with one character that bel was trying to pull of, which is none other than the pig from the movie, Babe.

But once again, this is after much deliberation and reviews from experts and professionals but still, we leave it up to you to come to your own interpretations.

Since everyone is studying so hard for their exams, i will be posting random features of your beloved coach bel. I'm sure everyone has heard stories about her. The great tries she scored, the diving touches she made and her various speciality moves. But this is not what defines a person. So from this week onwards and for the weeks to come, the NY Touch Times will be showcasing some of bel's past.

Bel started of just like you and I. Not knowing how to play, or even pass a ball! And it all took place 3 years ago. 2005, She made her debute for RP, not only playing in the girls team, but also for the mixed team, occasionally playing for even the Men's team! This was the start her career in rugby. In year 1 already, talent scouts were already labelling her as the 'wonderkid' of touch football.

Here in this photo, you can see her weakness. This has been a weakness for the past 4 years. LAZINESS. During an intervew with some of her friends, many labelled her as the whale after this picture was released. As you can see, they say this looks like a whale washed up onto sea, but we shall leave that up to your interpretation.

The NY times will leave this at that. Stay tuned for more.. And there is many more to come!

Hey everyone.

No one should be reading this cause, well; all of you are suppose to be studying real hard for the exams. One more week till the exams! So here is just a quick debrief of the camp since I couldnt get to say anything after the camp due to the boy's game. Had to ref their game.

I think everyone did great. It wasn't easy as many of the year 1s have pointed out, but all of you managed to pull through. There wasn’t a need for an ambulance, so that was good.

On both sides, Year 1s and year 2s, both equally had torture throughout the whole camp. So year 1s, don't just think it was only you. Just in case you don't know what was going on, year 2s had 4 hour training on the 2nd day. It was when you year 1s were preparing for the Farewell. 4 hours with I think only 3 water breaks for the whole training. The reason why, is because they weren't able to perfect the move, eagle. Something which is nothing new to them. They have learnt this and been doing this for the past 2 months. There is no reason why it can't be done. On the 3rd day, before lunch, the year 2s were made to do the same drill, eagle. Yes, they did go through a couple of times. Year 2s, its not that I didn't see, I saw, but it has to be all the time that your move goes through. Failing to conform to my standards, which made me really really frustrated, it was fitness for them. A few runs up the hill and 50 push ups. My intention was actually 10 laps the hill, but after 4, I realized I'm pushing you girls to the boys standards. I apologize to those whom think I was harsh. I admit I was.

As for the year 1s, you girls had to spell out the longest number that came to my head. And as Xiao Wei said, I forgot what I said, well she is wrong. I know what I said. You can congratulate yourselves for doing so many push ups. It was seventy seven million, seven hundred and seventy seven thousand, seven hundred and seventy seven point seven. If I counted right, that's 93 MAN push ups. Give yourself a clap. Somehow after that punishment, the next day, the year 1s were very well organized and on their toes for the whole of the 2nd and 3rd day. So maybe I need to do that before every training.

Amazing Race. Hope everyone enjoyed themselves, both year 1s and 2s. Planning it wasn't that easy either and I think it was quite a success. Some teams were super scared, which was the whole point, others, not so much. Heard lots of screaming, lots of laughter, so that's good. We should all thank the J2s for this because they really put a lot of time and effort into this (even more effort than put in training haha). Unseen things like the logistics and the cleaning up after the whole event is something I want to give credit to as well. Well done!

2.4 morning run. I really did expect Janelle to run a 2.4. Just to let you all know, it's not my idea! Haha. Despite the length of it, I saw many of you trying to keep up which I felt was very heart warming. I was not happy with those who didn't really want to make an effort to catch up. I like to see effort being put in. I know who the faster ones are, and who the slower ones are. So I know who is putting in effort and who is not. Like Mr. Singh always tells me, "If the girls play around on the field, it will reflect back to what they do in class as well and also in their studies." And I agree with that! For example, Since all of you take Math, if lets say there is this problem which is difficult to do (taking the factor of time out) will you just skip it because it looks too difficult? Or would you try? Even if you don’t get it right, you might just get some marks for the workings that you did. So it doesn’t matter what life throws you, whether the matter big or small, trying is your key to success. I hope you know what I’m talking about.

Games. The games were meant as a team bonding thing and also to bring out the best in everyone. When you play a game, you see 3 groups of people. Leaders, followers and those who just can’t be bothered to play. But at the same time, I hope you enjoyed the games cause your beloved enthu coaches certainly did! The ladder game was the funniest for us. Somehow we just kept spoiling the game and cheating. Sorry to those who were taking it seriously.

After reading all the reflections, I think I must say that you girls have learnt a lot from this camp. Although somehow everyone keeps saying the same thing. 'we bonded during the camp', 'build ties that are greatly needed for our team to succeed', 'the camp had taught me the importance of teamwork.'' All the same!!! But I hope what you all say is true! This is the purpose and reason for the camp that we put in the proposal. 'First and foremost, this camp is to bring Touch rugby together as a CCA. To us, rugby has is no longer a CCA, but its become a part of our lives. And hence, this training camp was planned to achieve our most important goal, which is to be amongst the best in schools in Touch rugby. During this camp, not only will the girls take away life skill, but also to foster strong bonds required in a Team sport. This camp was planned in such a way that it brings out the best in every single team member down to the smallest games we have planned. At the end of this camp, NYJC Touch Rugby will not only be stronger as a team, but also as a person. With coaches playing nationally, we are sure that their knowledge and skills will be passed down to us.'

So at the end of the day, I hope that this (the above), my plan for u as a coach, would be accomplished someday. Maybe not at the end of that camp, but maybe the next, and the one after that. I have many dreams for team NYJC, many plans and many wishes. But as for now, study hard for the exams and do well! I will be planning a sentosa outing. Its called ‘The junket to the Beach!’ Something to look forward to! Stay healthy and good luck for your exams!

EH, There were feedbacks that DAY1 update was kinda short. I try my best for DAY2 k! Had some difficulties recalling what exactly happened. As Day 2 was a pretty long day, I'll stop at the farewell alright. My deepest apologies but the next post may be after mid yrs! :(

RISE AND SHINE!

Our day started with a 2.4 run, which is 6 rounds around the track! The run was led by our dear lady who posted about the marathons below, Janelle (we see your passion towards your running totally!). So she increased the speed after running each round which got the girls kinda drained. But whats really heartening to see was the encouragements we gave each other in the run! We just kept pushing one another and sprinted to the best that we could on the last 100m. CHEERS! And thanks J1s for for cooling down. It was really comfy! After which most of the girls went for lesson where many heads were caught nodding off in the LT when that was just the beginning of it all. :D

BACK FROM LESSON – GAMES.

Breakfast, break time, and then it was GAMES! If 3 girls are equivalent to a market, then what’s 30 over girls when they’re playing games together?! Jacob’s ladder got the girls really shouting, each team cheering on for their group even though one of the team is leading. Like what Mr Singh said, he thought we had great team spirit. Guess the coaches were so attracted to the fun we were having that they decided to join in too!

After Jacob’s ladder we had this stocking game where you’re suppose to move your head around to hook the stocking of the other person with the help of the tennis ball. It was hilarious when we see the girls put the stocking over their heads when we usually were it from below. HAHA. Though embarrassing and unglam, we all had fun! Oh yes, we’re really proud to say we have really enthu coaches who volunteered to demo the game for us! :D:D:D

Due to some extra time that we had, the coaches thought of another game to play. A game where we had to fulfill the requirements that they set. The most memorable one was probably the one where they asked for 1 split, 2 heads , 1 handstand and some other things which I cant quite remember. LOL. And amazingly, we have quite a number of girls who can do split. Not bad not bad. Bet the game masters had fun seeing how the girls tried to do some stunts!

All I can say is that at least we tried... HAHA

And we played another game which is like the longest line wins. So everyone was stretching to touch the item infront of them.

The losing teams had to play this “eagle catches chicks” game where the tail of every chick was to hook the tail of another chick. Hmmm, I think it’s quite a bad explanation so let the pictures do the job! :

NAP TIME

Guess everyone was super grateful to our coaches for giving us a nap time. Even though we were in the middle of the atrium, we fell asleep anyway. And we not only have enthu coaches, we have coaches who amuses us. As adapted from Ashley’s blog, “And had fun making fun of us while we're sleeping. They tickled my feet and like some knee-jerk reaction my leg went up. too bad didn kick them...:(“ (sorry Ashley! Lol!) And maybe that’s why they’re so fun loving ;) Ok, basically, as you will see later, we didnt really care about the fact that we were in the atrium and many slept really soundly! Zzzzz. The camp kick started with Line-up(ice-breakers). Made the j1s line up according to their height,birth date,shoe size(UK size or what?all anyhow stand).Super funny to see them not being able to talk, especially HANNAH!haha.Hope the j1s enjoyed the games;) it bonded them well i guess.

Followed by another game.there's no name for it cause it was made up then.haha.j1s were supposed to get one of their team mate's shoe and throw as far as they can,then go find their own shoe and run back to the line.the owner&thrower of the nearest shoe and last one to run back had to do forfeit.Forfeit very funny:Chicken dance around the netball courts!!

At trainings, everyone were all very serious. Did that square ball passing drill(don't know what's that called),followed by a circuit: 3-ups and lateral passing, loops and switches. all the basic moves.

I REALLY JERKED UP IN E MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT! saying coach matthew's fav line. 5 MORE MINS!.haha!!

But i guess all these were nothing,we made up for all the tough parts of the camp with our super fun THE VERY AMAZING RACE!!We had 4 stations:Spider web,Haunted toilet,Parade square,field.i can't say anything about the 3 stations cause i was only at the haunted toilet.First, emelyn took them to some ulu and dark place to tell them the story of mary jane.and mr singh can and scare them with the "careful of the -you know what-" talk.the j1s freaked out,all cover their ears.after that j1s were blindfolded.then the fun began!haha.the toilet became some mad house.j1s screaming their heads off.it wasn't very scary la.but the j1s....i don't know why.especially KELLY!scream at anything and everything!matthew and i had fun disturbing the j1s.separating them from their group,pull their shirts,tickle their legs with grass,and hiding them at some place to let their leader go look for them.wahaha!Great fun:D then had some sort of initiation.bursted waterbombs over the j1s and made them roll over mud,flour,water and detergent.and all passed.YAY!!!welcome into touch rugby!:D (no pictures taken though.so j1s,don't worry.cannot see u unglam)

And day 2 was training.nothing interesting.Woke up for morning run.Then j2s went for lessons and all.j1s had theory session with matthew and annabel.played a couple of games:Jacob's ladder and some unglam stocking game.(pictures to be uploaded soon).Jacob's ladder:haven't seen a bigger pair of cheater bugs than matthew and annabel.anyhow play!!!stocking game:hilarious!both the coaches were sabo-ed to demo.(pictures with eme).training was super tiring.did eagle.but didn't perfect it.the planned 2hours of training extended to 4,from 3pm -7pm.in the matthew was angry!!and he walked out on us.and we were super sad:(oooh,and we had j2s farewell!j2s all chiong to change.cause farewell was supposed to be at 7pm.ended up waiting for j1s,cannot find them.so j2s mood abit dampen plus training before that,all emo ready.so we ended up taking weird pictures in the dark(pictures with eme and camy).Finally,they were ready for us.Good food,fun games,lobely people.farewell was quite nice.everyone became very happy again.yay!

then day 3.morning exercise was captain's ball.quite fun.had abit of training.did eagle again.matthew wasn't happy cause not good enough.punished with 10 laps up the hills and 50 guy push ups.super tiring.but we're strong girls.and completed it before going for lunch.nobody had any appetite,all keep drinking water.had a bit of rest.then had friendly matches with tjc,mi,njc and some of coaches' friends.was quite fun.first time scored against njc.nice one girls!final score 2-2.YAY!!!then i don't know for some reason, the coaches had to do forfeit again!After that,break camp.and home sweet home!!!!

J2s:thank you to all the j2s who came for the camp.and of course the exco for planning it for us:D At first we thought camp was for us to slack a little right?haha!ended up trained like mad. well,we survived the trainings! trainings that made us turn jelly and cannot walk propoerly.do eagle until like what janelle said: "almost squeezed evry bit of our sweat out fr our sweat glands alrdy, and we hav to sprint up the slopes too!" we were all super tired, but we endured.we finished the sprints up,the 50pumpings. i know it was torturing, some of ur hands were like giving way already,some of ur biting on ur collars to ease the pain a little. but u girls held on.good encouragement from all of u. i remembered a few phrases of encouragement, which pulled me through, "endure endure", " jia you", " almost there" , "faster!", " ke yi de,ke yi de!".well done girls. friendly games were great too. drawed with NJC! now that we've stepped down, must all concentrate on a levels.we'll play again together soon ya.so all the best for the upcoming exams and take care:D

J1s:Well done j1s for enduring this camp! and a super big thank you for the farewell u girls planned for us:D from ur reflections, seems that u girls have really made touch rug a part of ur school life.i'm glad to know that u girls understood one another better and bonded well. u girls re a team,without any of u,the team won't be whole.so stay together and help one another. do ur best for all tournaments and games,the seniors will be proud of u:D

Break from mugging(11th june)Many of us took a break from studying and went back to school to play touch. was supposed to start at 10am.but our beloved coaches came late.ya.it rained and the field was wet.so we played in the atrium first.did some drill that matthew invented.then some funny ball drill which the j1s and j2s competed in.in the end j2s lost.thanks to some passerby,who constantly came to disturb.ABISH!!! after that had touch game.the j1s scored against the coaches!yay..we're proud of u girls:D j2s left to study and j1s stayed to play some pail game with matthew.

A BELATED CAMP UPDATE
Alright, and so, Team NYJC had a 3D2N camp from 28th-30thMay in the school campus. It was probably a camp of roller coaster rides of emotions. There were tears but laughter as well. EH, seriously, we dont have much memories of Day1 but its probably bcos we really have lil photos of the 1st day in camp. So i'll just try my best. And so, just to give you a short synopsis of what happened at DAY1 here:

In the morning

The J1s reported and so did the J2s. But most of the j2s probably came with an aching hand cos they just finished their SPA exams which took 5 pages of writing in all. But there still wasnt full attendance yet cos many still had lessons to go for. The first time when we had a full strength was probably during lunch at 12pm. But for the girls who had no lesson or whatsoever had ice breaker and training before lunch.

Oh, then thats also when our camp shirt came. It turned out to be really comfortable and kinda nice though coach was quite surprised at us taking a yellow shirt initially. With a kiss to our wedded ball, here's our shirt!

The VERY Amazing Race
Its hard to believe, but yes, we have the least photos for the supposed highlight of the camp! Anyway, guess everyone had great fun that night relieving the past of Mary Jane. The spider webs where Mary Jane crawled, the toilet where she struggled to live, the science block where she crawled to and THE WATER BOMBS WE PLAYED! And as expected, the girls screamed their lungs out.

And yea, the memorable SEVENTY SEVEN MILLION yada yada pumpings that our J1s had to do on the field. It was really a test of their unity and strength together. :) A pat on the shoulder to the J1s for making through it. Cheers.

FINALLY, the night ended with a mass cleaning up session by the J2s! The toilet to wash, the floor to scrubs, the webs to be cut. Though it was kinda tiring to clean up but hope the J2s found some fun in doing so. Not sure about the other venues that the J2s cleaned up, but as for the toilet crew, haha, i think they did. Really a pity that we have very little pictures and here's what we got:

Debrief, relections, wash up, and last of all, LIGHTS OUT (: And that was our Day1 where we know our Day 2 would be double the fatigue we feel that night. HAHA and yes, Day 2 was double the training, double the perspiration, double the fun, double the laughter.

HELLO WORLD:)

First of all, we've got a new URL! Cos we thought the previous one was quite passe, so decided to change it! Hope everyone likes it :) And all girls with blog can link this blog k!

Alright, i'll try my best to update about the touch rug camp ASAP! Will probably do it in 3 parts (Hopefully)- Day1, Day2 and Day3! So keep a lookout ya!

AND MOST IMPORTANTLY,
Due to the J2s' super observant skills, we're going to come up with 10 STRONG VALID REASONS on why HE / SHE / IT is THE passerby. So just a note to Mr P (lets just assume that its a HE for now till proven innocent), please minimise the loopholes you're going to make! Cos the smarty girls are gg to catch you red-handed real soon! Oh btw, in case Mr P or anyone else visits the blog and wanna post a shoutout, i'm sorry but you guys gotta wait for a while. my reflection!

yay i survived e camp! dat was e first thing dat came to my mind after e camp. felt e camp quite tough and depressing haha! cos like everything we do is wrong. den we gt punished for a lot of things. but some are we deserved de wahaha. but some a bit e yuan wang xD but i think dat is part of our training. dat is to be stronger in both physical and mental!!:D i think my muscle growing hoho. overall there are still fun parts about e camp(: i love e last day! e friendly matches day. cos i felt we all became more bonded(: touch rug's new cheer. "e book is on the table the table the table" *with steph doing her chi chi chi...* haha! e song with copyrights from matthew, owen and e reservice guy wilson!! hahaha! hope everyone felt e same way like i do(: and hope e seniors love our farewell gifts! haha

Hello!!
I'm glad everyone survived this camp & that we knew it each better now. But unfortunately, I sprained my freaking left ankle on the first day of the camp & all I can do was stone whenever you guys were training. I seriously felt bad about not contributing & accompanying everyone through all the activities. Well, thank you to everyone who cared & asked how's my ankle almost every time you guys see me. Things like "How's your ankle now? Feeling better?", "don't walk around!", & not forgetting "YOUR ANKLE'S FAT!"
I know it's tough going through the activities and stuffs like that. Hopefully my little encouragements here & there did help. Nonetheless, I'm still so happy that we've all passed this camp!

wow! it's been 2 weeks plus since i've visited this site ( just after i posted all the camp stuff ) and now i see so many posts by the j1s!

it feels so shiok to read abt ur reflections, made me realise that u girls have really treated touch rug as part of ur school life alrdy. u knoe , there are some ppl out there who plays for the passion, bt on the other hand, there are ppl who plays for their team or rather for the sake of their teammates .
and for this situation, it really takes a strong friendship to get u going.
from what i read fr ur reflections, i guess thru this camp, u girls must hav understand and know one another at least a lil bit better right? who's right and who's wrong at times doesnt matter, wad matters most is how u all can help one another to get over their mistakes, and learn tgt! : D

and for now...i'm applauding all the j1s for enduring this camp! esp after the night quest when u all were punished and then had to 'suffer' from the night chill while sitting down randomly on the field...without u all knowing where u all are cos u all were blindfolded; i guess that must be the most quiet moments of ur life? haha! and then u all had to call out for ur group members ,listen out for their voices & huddled tgt, all muddy,wet and sticky,with maggie mees on ur bodies ( cos we oured the polluted water used in 1 of the stations in night quest on the mat tt u all rolled on,ha! ) .
hmm, wondering if it's a gd thing or a bad thing, the j2s hav nt experienced this kinda camp during j1s b4..haha.
this is the most memorable part of the camp,other than the farewell, that i hav of the j1s! i;m sure u all hav ur different memorable moments abt it right? : D

for the j2s! well, we tot it was a camp for us to slack a lil right?haha!
didnt know that we'd hav to train lyk tis too. well well..
we've survived the last day of trg! the trg that we all nearly.. turned jelly and numb?
repetitive eagle moves almost squeezed evry bit of our sweat out fr our sweat glands alrdy, and we hav to sprint up the slopes too! but althou all of us were super tired, we finished the sprint up too.the 50pumpings at that time were torturing, some of our hands were like 'breaking' alrdy and i saw some of us biting on our collar to ease the pain a lil. but we held on.... i remembered a few phrases of encouragement, which pulled me thru, whoever said those, i couldnt rmb thou.
"endure endure", " jia you", " almost there" , "faster!", " ke yi de,ke yi de!"

haha and we couldnt even bring ourselves to enjoy our lunch cos we all jus gt so tired & lost our appetite.

frenlies were great. draw with NJC! thats really a gd match for us.

jus wana thank all my teammates for waking up earlier&slpin later, accompanyin to run for the morning run,strugglin to listen to ur lectures thou our eyes merely can open
and to the exco, all the time that we all hav spent in planning for this camp(:

Hey there girls. I'm so glad that we've endured the 3 days 2 nights camp together, and I'm sure that through this camp we've grown stronger, be it individually or as a team. It was apparent that we've forged a good bonding among all of us, which could be seen in the trainings, friendlies and tournaments. And most importantly, I've learnt that teamwork is the vital key and that everyone has their part to play to achieve success. We definitely have room for improvement so girls let's work hard together and prove that touch rugby is the best (:

And thanks for all the encouragement that you girls have given me after the camp (: The hugs and concern are my comfort! It's so nice to know that you girls will be there, always (:

I'm so proud to say that I'm a NYJC touch rugger 'cause I know, I have the most wonderful teammates. (:

hey :) kelly convinced me to reflect . yes yes.
i shall do all my rantings here.
"TAKE YOUR TIME" to read ;)

first n foremost, i would like to thank all our coaches n j2s for putting in so much effort to organise this camp. Without them, it wouldnt have been a successful one.
the camp kick started with ice-breakers. the games were uber fun. ;) haha. it sure did bond us well. [ the games that the j2s came up with were great fun that we j1s were afraid that our games for the farewell party wouldnt be good enough , we were cracking our brains like mad].
during trainings, everyone immediately switced to "serious" modes. the truck and trail(is it spelled like that), 3-ups and lateral passing, loops and switches. all the basic moves. i realised from the first day we played touch rug, we IMPROVED tremendously! MUCH lesser drop-balls. though coach still expects a lot from us .i guess it's the only way to bring us to the top. well done :)

"take your time" n "5 mins"
sense of urgency. we were punished many times for having no sense of urgency. all the PUSH UPs we did. we held on for dear life, and it was really mind over body. mucles aching after that and lessons learnt after each mistake. we made it through together as one. i'm so glad it's over.
77 million 77 ... whatever it is. till now i still don know.
psst * qiao had a dream n she jerked up while we were sound aslp, shouting " 5 more mins"

peel BANANA n EAGLE were the new moves we learnt during the camp! we practised non-stop. Coach said that how we performed during trainings will be how we perform on the field. all of us took it so seriously ( we did one successful one! n scored a try at mi friendlies .we were TRIUMPHANT. ) after so long, finally one sucessful move. practice makes perfect! it was all from the trainings n encouragement from coach n even his friends! i was touched.

amazing race was exciting i would say. i know the j2s took up much of their time to prepare. because that's like the key event. we got all wet and dirty. but i enjoyed every bit of it.
the farewell party was a moment of FUN, FUN and more FUN. we j1s tried our very best to put together for the j2s. hope they enjoyed it pretty much.

friendlies = learning experience.
we put our best foot forward and gave in all we can. even though we did not win. we kept our spirits high. i'm sure we can still improve much more.

ALL SCHOOLS tournament
right after the camp was our tournament. some came with bandaged hand n even legs, strained mucles and lack of sleep. we still managed to pull through by drawing with jjc.our team was very organised i would say. and we worked things our on our own. after each match we will try to evaluate. i thought that was a good one. during the match, we reminded each other what we have to do. and coached each other in many ways. the encouragement from each and everyone. i believe that's what make a good team :)

Team spirit; nyjc truggers sure do have. if not we wouldn't have made past those trainings we had. i'm glad this spirit is still burning in our hearts. and as one, we will aim and achieve the best of what we have yet to be.

Reflections regarding touch rug camp'08 and recent tournaments

Camp'08
I feel that this camp has really allowed us to bond with each other, and build ties that are greatly needed for our team to succeed. Going through the training and punishment with the team has made me realise that we are a team, and we need to act as one, as whatever anyone does has repercussions on the entire team. As such, teamwork is crucial.
I believe the camp has also made me a stronger person, forcing me to persevere through all we went through in order to overcome it. I believe this strength cultivated in all of us will be what takes us through whatever we have to go through in the future, be it touch rugby, studies...
And from all that punishment we have went through, I'm sure everyone agrees that DISCIPLINE is a key factor (if we want to spare ourselves the agony).
On the whole, I'm glad we had this camp, as it was really fun, punishment aside. Let's have another one soon! :)

Tournaments
The tournaments have allowed me to see how it really is to play in competitions, and have allowed me to learn a great deal too. I believe that we played our hearts out in the recent all schools tournament, and I felt that we played our best that day. The all schools tournament was where our team scored our very first try, by mei kwee!!!! I was simply exhilarated, and I'm pretty sure the entire team was too! Good work, team!!!!!!!!!! We'll continue doing our best, and we will emerge victorious.
GOOOOOO NYJC!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, personally, I think that I have to remain extremely levelheaded in every match, and not panic, cos that's when I start screwing up. I also feel that concentration is very important, and I have to be extremely alert too.

All of us had pulled through the camp! (: Definitely , the camp had taught me the importance of teamwork. In a team, every single one of us counts. We need to work hard together as a team, improving on what we're lacking at. One particular thing that we really need to improve on is our sense of urgency. And it was this that cause us to get punished for umpteen times during the camp. So hopefully, we can make an improvement on this! :D

As for the tournament & friendlies, it was really an eye-opener for us. And through all this, we gained many great experiences. As I said, everyone counts in a team, so everyone should try their very best and put in their effort during the game. The very first try scored by Meikwee was fabulous! The team was screaming and shouting like dont-know-what. Of course, the second try scored by Nat was great too! (: I believe that there will be more to come so let's do this together yeah! :]

First, i missed the camp =( Well, must have been fun. I'm sure the team has gone through alot during the camp, to emerge as a stronger individual, as well as a more united team. Be it in camp, during a competition or just usual training, i believe that teamwork is vital. I wouldnt be able to comment much about the camp, but i'm sure the rest must have enjoyed it. The team worked really well in the competition. With every match, the team grows stronger, both mentally and physically. I believe that we can do it, if we work hard together. As a team, lets do it =)

T'was a great and enjoyable time! I think the camp was great! Thank you coaches and seniors!Yeah, tough camps really do bond people together as I believe we have bonded much closer with one another as a team.
With every competition, I have become a stronger person mentally, gaining more perseverance, endurance and more of myself. Yes, every single person in the team matters , we stand and fall together as a team as one single body.

Lets treasure every single moment of our journey together as a touch-rugger because time do fly and before we realised it, we will be stepping down pretty soon as it is- passing down the touch rugby torch to our juniors next june. Nevertheless, lets make the best of our time, working hard and playing hard together as a touch rugby family!

The three days of camp had taught me how to be a good team player. I learnt that it is crucial for our team to work together and resolve our differences peacefully. Through the camp, I realised that working together for all of us wasn't that hard, but not easy either. The camp also put our limits to the test and taught us to persevere. Although the three days of camp has been physically exhausting, all of us endured and pulled through with the never give up spirit. I believe the passion of touch rugby has also grown stronger after the camp and has made us tougher both physically and mentally.

As for the competition, being out on the field made me realise who I am and how much each and everyone matters to the team. It is also important for each of us to give our very best for each competition and have confidence for who we are. The all schools competition has really taught me a lot and when I saw the first and ever try scored by Mei Kwee, some of us standing at the sideline were practically screaming for joy!! The feeling was unforgettable. Nat scored the second try next, and we went screaming again!:)

Overall I believe all of us have done well. Keep the Touch Rugby Flame burning in our hearts and all the best for mid yrs!:D

This camp had indeed left us with alot of wonderful memories. Seventy-seven million, seven hundred and seventy-seven thousand, seven hundred and seventy- seven point seven seven push ups, 2mins of bathing time, rolling around in the field and most importantly, the things we did that made us so bonded, so united. The times we stood up for one another, motivating each other to do better.Through this camp, i've learnt that teamwork and discipline are very important during trainings, and in matches. All 18 of us need to be bonded and work hard, in this way, we will reach our goal faster. :]

During the All Schools tournaments, Meikwee scored the first try we ever did in any tournaments. And we had a tie with JJ. This shows that we have the potential to win. SO lets all work hard and play hard together. :]

Overall, camp was great, matches were well-played. But we can all do better. :] So lets ALL work hard eh.

The camp made me realise how important teamwork is and that every one of us matters in the team. We should also have respect for one another and try our best to push ourseleves no matter what. The competition let me know how teams can bond together to score and come together to defend the opponents. I believe we can do it too so let's work together this! (:

It’s been days after the camp, but the joyous moments we had together as a team during the camp are still kept etched in my mind. Indeed, the camp was a tough one, with muscles aches, push ups and all, but nothing compares with the feeling of going through all the strenuous trainings together as a team. I am really glad that every single one of us pulled it through even at times when we felt that nothing was going right. I feel that the 3 most important take away of the camp are discipline, initiation and team spirit. I believed that this camp has taught us these values and it will stay with us through. The 3 days of camp had also improved our touch rug skills and it feels great that we could learn two new moves in just 3 days. In all, it was a great camp and I am proud that all of us endured it through as a team, as one touch rug family.

The all schools tournament had been a great experience for us. It showed us the importance of every single member in the team and that we cannot always rely only on the goods player in the team. It is crucial for every one to play their part and perform well on the field as it is very difficult for a team to propel forward if there are others still lagging behind. 1st time after so many friendlies and matches, we scored 2 trys!! This really proves that we are capable of winning and if we train harder we will do ourselves proud one day. The feeling of putting the ball on the try line was just unexplainable and I believe there’s more to come!!

Since I'm forced by Kelly so I shall do the Touch Rug assignment next.
The most memorable thing about camp has got to be the seventy-seven million seven hundred and seventy-seven thousand seven hundred and seventy-seven point seven seven push ups. I learnt that being in a team, everyone counts. So while we push ourselves, we ought to drag the rest along as well. Its no good being really good on your own while the rest are lousy cause the team's still lousy. So we should all work hard together. (:
The competition allowed us to gain many many experience. And we even know how it feels like to try!!! (like finally) OMG. I remembered the moment MeiKwee dumped the ball I was screaming my head off luh. We should try more often, cause the feeling's gooooooooood. (:

Reflection on camp and competition

During the camp, the J1 really became bonded after we endured 3 days and 2 nights together. It had not been easy and im really happy that we did not give up! The camp had been very fun and we really brush up on our skills. I learnt that in a team every single one of us is super important, so what if like a minority of the people are good , once they got sub out, u can really see the difference. During training in future,i will try my very best since the standard of our team is determined by the worst player and not the best. The competition had been an eye-opener for us. I can really feel the adrenaline rushing in, cold sweats trickling whenever the opponent try to break through and score. The all school tournament was also the first time our team scored after like so many friendlies and matches. That moment when kwee score, i was at the sideline with a few others, we were like jumping up and down screaming our heads off. That feeling was wow~!

Hello beloved J1s&J2s!

Our annual touch rugby camp is here!!! It's a 3 days + 2 nights camp that aims to bond us closer together , polish up our skills & most imptly, have fun as a team!

Camp is this coming wednesday 28th june! til.....30th june! 31st june would be the j1s SHINE competition.

here are some brief details

on 28.05.08, those j2s who are takin chem spa skill A would be till 10am. after which we would prepare to assemble alrdy.

REPORTING TIME FOR J1s is 1030am.

BREAK CAMP is 30.05.08 around 5pm.

meals all provided so no worries.

j2 camp committees are xiao wei,janelle,kelly lim,shahidah,audrey,ashley & emelyn. Feel free to approach any1 of us if there're any queries.
